12 months Contract - DevOps Engineer (Through an External Agency Payroll Provider).
This role is with Julius Baer, based in Singapore.
The position involves designing, developing and testing software modules, ensuring optimal functionality and integration within complex systems, with collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
We are looking for a motivated DevOps Engineer to join the global CoE Software Solutions team within GPS Technology.
The successful candidate will be part of the team in Singapore and contribute to standardization, cloud onboarding, platform alignment, and engineering culture within the team.
Responsibilities
Be a driver for standardization and automation within Julius Baer GPS Technology
Drive the onboarding of applications to the Cloud Native Stack
Drive the onboarding of teams to common platforms (Observability Frameworks, ...)
Support to foster the engineering culture within the team
Bring proven expertise in engineering practices and processes and have experience operating and supporting critical business systems on a global scale
Leverage experience with microservices, cloud-native applications and distributed systems to support business growth
Collaborate with a highly collaborative team to contribute to the future Software Solutions strategy of the GPS division
Support maintaining common platforms within GPS
Demonstrate values and behaviours including honesty, integrity, due care, fair dealing, risk management and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Qualifications
Relevant higher educational and professional background with a minimum of 5 years of experience
Heavy CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitLab, Maven)
Scripting skills (bash)
Ability to work on Linux infrastructure
Kubernetes deployments and experience with distributed architectures
Experience with Azure Application Platform, especially AKS
Development background (any of: Java, .NET, Scala, Python, JavaScript)
Deep architectural experience, and ability to elicit non-functional requirements and document system designs
Good understanding of communication stacks (RabbitMQ, Kafka, GRPC, WebSockets)
Observability tools (Grafana, ElasticSearch, fluent-bit, OpenTelemetry)
Understanding of security topics such as OAuth 2.0, TLS, and vulnerability scanning
Experience and proficiency in designing architecture and writing code for microservices and distributed applications
Able to work independently and in a global team setup with initiative
Client-centric approach for all deliverables
Solution oriented and able to work in an agile setup
Able to troubleshoot problems quickly and provide effective solutions
Fast learner and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Good communication/coordination skills to deal with different levels of stakeholders
Strong analytical skills, able to structure and document requirements and solution options
Highly motivated with integrative personality
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
Strong team player and ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Ability to work in an agile environment
Willing to work in a global team with members in Singapore and Switzerland
Eligible for employment authorization in Singapore
