Job description

Weybourne Group is the holding company for the Dyson technology company, Dyson Farming, and other diverse business interests.

Outside the operating businesses, Weybourne manages an investment portfolio and provides financial and other professional support to the Dyson Family, their estates, and personal business interests.

The group covers a wide range of sectors including farming, financial and commercial property investments and residential property.

We currently have a team of around 75 employees whose roles cover accountancy, financial control, tax and treasury, commercial property and financial investment management, security, audit, IT and HR based in both the UK and Singapore (where the Group Head Office is located).

Overview - Role and Department:

The Accountant will work with the Finance Manager, on a 6 month fixed term contract, and the rest of the Finance team to achieve the highest standards of accounting and financial support with specific responsibility for the Weybourne Holding Pte Limited (WHPL) and its other entities as required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing management accounts in accordance with agreed policies and procedures including commentary and analysis against budget and other reports (as required) for Weybourne Holding Group's associated entities as required.

  • Preparing of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for entities charged • Preparing P&L forecasts in support of business managers, ensuring consistency and appropriateness of approach
  • Producing periodic cash flow analysis including anticipated future funding requirements.

  • Posting of cash entries in bank accounts and intercompany accounts, and preparing monthly reconciliations to bank statements
  • Processing of Treasury FX related or any AP related payments when required
  • Journal posting on following natures (not restricted to) - fixed assets related, accruals, prepayments, payroll etc
  • Managing the transfer pricing process, working with the tax team to ensure the transfer pricing model is kept up to date, and preparation and processing of associated billing.

    • Preparing of intercompany recharges/billings, with relevant supporting documents
  • Liaison with auditors and relevant stakeholders in relation to audit, close out of year-end activities and production of entity statutory accounts.

  • Support Tax team in VAT and GST returns as required, including supporting analysis and reconciliations as required.

  • Processing of employees’ corporate credit card claims and out-of-pocket expenses.

  • Preparation of statutory survey submissions for associated entities (when required)
  • Managing the recharge process for central family office costs to entities, including a regular review of rates and charges, preparation of letters of engagement and associated billing.

  • Supporting the processing of employees’ corporate credit card claims and out-of-pocket expenses.

  • Support on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) when required
  • Supporting other ad hoc projects and analysis as directed by Senior Management.

Requirements

  • Qualified CA / ACCA or equivalent (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a role as an accountant, or similar position (involving most of the key tasks listed above).

  • Commitment to meeting demanding reporting deadlines.

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.

  • Computer literate, with good skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

    Experience of an ERP system, data visualization software desirable.

  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from a range of backgrounds.

  • Willing and able to take responsibility and ownership for tasks.

  • Ability to work autonomously when required, whilst still possessing strong teamwork skills.

  • Strong sense of discretion, appreciating the confidentiality of the work.

  • Keen to suggest improvements to current ways of working.
