About the Role:
As part of the Finance Operations team, you’ll report directly to the Accounting Manager.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our outsourced service provider, acting as the primary point of contact and key escalation point for all Accounts Payables (Non-Technical) and Technical Accounting-related queries.
You’ll be responsible for monitoring the service provider’s performance against established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and you’ll conduct regular quality assurance reviews to ensure the accuracy and completeness of their work.
You’ll also contribute to quarterly GST reporting activities and assist the Accounting Manager in preparing reports.
Additionally, you’ll collaborate with other departments, functions, and regional colleagues to support transformation projects at the local, regional, and global levels.
This position will be based from our Singapore office with a hybrid schedule of working two days remote each week.
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Support the Accounting Manager by working closely with the outsourced service provider and be the primary point of contact & key escalation point for all Accounts Payables (Non-Technical) and Technical Accounting related queries, as well as monitoring the outsourced service provider’s quality of service, in the following (but not limited to) activities:
Invoice Processing – Receive, verify, and process invoices from vendors and suppliers.
Ensure all invoices are properly supported and accurately booked to the AP module on a timely basis.
Non-Invoice Processing – Preparation and booking of Manual Technical and Non-Technical payment journals
Expense Reimbursement – Process and review employee reimbursement to ensure it complies with company policies.
Month End Closing – Assist with month end and year end closing procedures.
Which includes preparing accruals and journal entries.
Bank & Cash Management reconciliation.
Prepare and following up on intercompany invoices, as well as validating expenses before making payment to our affiliates.
Following up and booking the settlement of Technical balances (e.g. Reinsurance payments, return premiums, commission payments, ARPC) into the GL
Review and resolve non-technical elimination reconciliations on a quarterly basis.
Support the quarterly GST Reporting process by being responsible to validate tax invoices issued by the Operations Team, working with them to resolve discrepancies, as well as maintain a tracker to ensure completeness of tax invoices issued.
Work with Credit Control to support the Accounting Manager to prepare presentation slides and reports
Evaluate and enhance financial processes to increase efficiency, automate tasks, and reduce the time to close.
Involvement in local, regional and global transformation projects.
Qualifications:
You will have proven experience in finance operations.
Experience in the insurance industry would be a plus.
You’ve worked with outsourced service providers based outside of Singapore.
You’re proactive and enjoy solving problems.
You communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
You’re a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
You have a solid understanding of accounting principles.
You’re comfortable working in a start-up environment.
You can perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
You’re proficient in ERP systems, with Oracle being preferred.
A diploma or higher qualification is preferred.
