The A&A Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the demolition and reconstruction of structural and architectural works within an operating MRT station and its back-of-house areas.
This role requires meticulous planning, execution, and coordination to ensure compliance with safety standards, minimal disruption to station operations, and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
Responsibilities
1 - Demolition and Reconstruction:
- Plan and execute demolition, reconstruction, and design activities for structural and architectural works within the operating MRT station and its back-of-house areas.
- Ensure all demolition works are executed safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to minimize disruption to station operations during reconstruction.
- Provide input on design modifications to meet project and operational requirements.
2 - Project Management:
- Prepare project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to align with overall project goals.
- Monitor project progress, addressing any issues or delays promptly to keep the project on track.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
3 - Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical guidance on structural and architectural works, ensuring adherence to design specifications and engineering standards.
- Review and approve technical drawings, method statements, and risk assessments related to the scope of works.
4 - Stakeholder Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and MRT station operators.
- Facilitate clear communication channels to address project challenges and maintain alignment with objectives.
5 - Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety measures throughout the demolition and reconstruction phases.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and codes of practice.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or any related discipline
- At least 3 years of experience in construction projects, with a focus on demolition, reconstruction, and design in operational environments
- Strong understanding of structural and architectural works in complex infrastructure projects
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with MRT or similar transportation systems is an advantage, preferably with A&A experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
