What the role is

You conduct research and analysis on the strategic communications environment, online information trends and developments, and their applications and implications for MINDEF/SAF and Singapore.

What you will be working on

  • Coordinate projects to enhance analysis of MINDEF/SAF's strategic communications efforts
  • Test and validate MINDEF/SAF's opinion sensing capabilities
  • Assess effectiveness of information strategies
  • Develop tailored strategies to profile information in high-reach information portals to achieve portal-specific targets
    Challenge(s)
  • Grasping ongoing developments in the media environment and making timely, accurate assessments
  • Swiftly understanding how real-world issues and developments impact MINDEF/SAF in a saturated, fast-paced information environment
  • Maintaining composure, flexibility, and adaptability in a short-cycle information environment

What we are looking for

  • Education in Mass Communications or Social Sciences (e.g., Political Science, International Relations, Psychology, Economics)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent writing ability
  • Good awareness of Singapore's political, defence and security developments, as well as current affairs
  • Acute awareness of the regional and international media environment
  • Understanding of how media can be leveraged to benefit MINDEF/SAF and its interests
