Job Overview
As a Director, Wealth Technology for Core Deposits and Payments in APAC and EMEA, you will lead a dynamic and geographically dispersed engineering team across multiple sites in Asia.
This pivotal role demands a strong focus on engineering excellence and modernization, partnering closely with business and Operations stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
The ideal candidate must possess deep familiarity with banking and payments processes and technologies.
A key mandate will be driving the strategic adoption and integration of AI technologies to transform our core platforms, enhance client experiences, and optimize operational efficiencies across the regions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for the team (e.g., performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions) and ensure adherence to best practices and processes; develop a vision for the team and structure it for maximum impact and alignment to business structure
- Prepare and present regular team and project reviews to senior management and business leaders
- Drive the design and development of system architecture, work with end-users, and enhance the quality of deliverables; ensure staff follows Citi policies and maintains current and comprehensive documentation
- Monitor and manage approach and results, budgeting, planning, policy formation, and contribute to future strategy
- Ensure change is managed with appropriate controls, documentation, and approvals including regulatory reporting requirements
- Research and resolve issues, provide recommendations, and escalate to senior management as needed
- Manage and maintain disaster recovery plans, oversee testing, and approve new applications for operation
- Lead and deliver local staff forums, and communicate global, regional, and location updates to engage the team
- Contribute to defining and implementing best practices and processes for the department, ensuring transparency and consistency across teams
- Assess risk in business decisions, safeguard Citi, its clients and assets, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and escalate or report control issues as needed
Qualifications
- 15+ years of relevant experience in Wealth Technology, Deposits Core Deposits and Payments
- 8–10+ years of managerial experience
- Experience with financial products
- Working knowledge of the industry and competitors’ products and services
- Advanced knowledge of the strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business
- Proficient computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated leadership, management, and development skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or university degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
This role will lead the Wealth Technology Deposits Core Deposits and Payments Team.
The successful candidate will have deep experience leading global teams, managing third-party vendor contracts and domain expertise in Wealth Banking and Payments.
Other key strengths include a proven ability to drive transformative change across multiple technology frameworks and stacks, and demonstrated partnership with Business and Operations stakeholders.
