Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Contracts Manager to support our contracts team in managing procurement, tendering, and contract administration for electrical engineering projects.
Reporting to the Head of Contracts Department, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and efficient contract execution for data center builds and commercial developments.
This position requires a strong understanding of the Singapore construction and engineering landscape, including local procurement laws and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, review, and negotiation of contracts, including subcontracts, supply agreements, and variation orders for electrical systems in data centers and commercial projects.
- Support tender processes by compiling bid documents, evaluating supplier proposals, and ensuring alignment with project specifications and budgets.
- Monitor contract performance, track deliverables, and manage change orders to minimize delays and cost overruns in compliance with Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BCA) guidelines and other relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams, including electrical engineers, procurement specialists, and site managers, to resolve contractual disputes and facilitate smooth project handover.
- Maintain contract documentation, including records of payments, insurance certificates, and performance bonds, using digital tools for efficient tracking.
- Conduct risk assessments on contracts, identifying potential liabilities related to electrical installations, safety standards, and supply chain disruptions in the Singapore market.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, such as vendors, legal advisors, and government bodies, to ensure adherence to local procurement policies and sustainability requirements.
- Contribute to post-project reviews, analyzing contract outcomes to improve future processes and support business development initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Business Administration, or a related field; a diploma with relevant experience may be considered.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in contracts management within the construction/engineering sector, with a focus on electrical projects (data centers or commercial buildings preferred).
- Familiarity with the Singapore market, including key regulations such as the Building Control Act, for electrical installations.
- Proven track record in handling subcontracts, tender evaluations, and contract close-outs in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and commercial terms.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for cost tracking, Word for drafting).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation and risk identification.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering basics (e.g., power distribution and integration in data centers and commercial projects).
