What The Role Is
You lead a team to support MINDEF office holders by assisting the press secretary to manage events attended by office holders while developing plans to execute communications campaigns, including working closely with internal and external stakeholders on concept and execution of communications plans.
What You Will Be Working On
Develop plans to execute communications campaign
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders on concept and execution of communications plans
Manage media interviews, press conferences, and courtesy calls
Conduct pre-event recces
Liaise with external media
Develop collaterals to supplement events
Issue speeches and photos
Monitor the media to ensure media reports published on events are accurate
Challenge(s)
Demonstrating sensitivity to policy and political implications and objectives while maintaining in-depth understanding of operational considerations and concerns
What We Are Looking For
Education in Communication Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences, Science and Technology fields (Information and Communication Technology, Digital Media, Information Science etc.)
At least 6 years of relevant working experience
Strong command of both written and spoken English
Proficiency in a second language (Mandarin, Malay, Tamil) is advantageous
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Keen interest in Singapore's media, political, defence and security developments
Good understanding of Singapore's media landscape
Ability to work independentlyMeticulous and detail-oriented
Ability to work odd hours and travel overseas on short notice for work
