What The Role Is
You will formulate, assess and review strategies, policies and programmes to achieve MDDI’s vision of a safe and inclusive Digital Society, where Singaporeans are empowered to harness opportunities afforded by digital technologies, and able to thrive in a digital future.
Key policy domains include digital access; inclusive digital design; digital skills, literacy and future readiness; digital well-being, citizenry, and safety.
What You Will Be Working On
As Assistant Director, you will be expected to lead a small team to deliver on projects / a workstream.
Contribute to the division’s efforts to develop, drive, coordinate and review digital readiness policies, strategies and programmes for individuals and micro-enterprises across MDDI, its agencies (IMDA, NLB, CSA, GovTech) and across the Whole of Government (WOG), working closely with relevant ministries and agencies.
Contribute to the coordination and driving a whole-of-MDDI approach and strategy for public education efforts and ensure that approach is relevant, cohesive and effective in addressing emerging issues.
This includes planning, formulating and coordinating public communications approaches to engage Singaporeans.
Develop and maintain an extensive network of relationships across public, private and people sectors, and ensure an effective and meaningful way to engage, galvanise and bring onboard partners and volunteers to contribute to enhancing the quality, reach and impact of policies and programmes.
Commission research studies, conduct environment scans and collaborate with local and overseas academia and think tanks to enhance understanding of international and local developments to ensure currency of our efforts and ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
This includes working with MDDI divisions to coordinate research agenda and to propagate research outcomes across WOG where relevant.
Contribute to the development and implementation of tools and approaches for the measurement and assessment of Digital Society outcomes in Singapore
Contribute to WOG agenda for lifelong learning through the review and formulation of policies, strategies and programmes related to libraries, archives and learning.
Provide secretariat work for committees and structures that will drive the above.
What We Are Looking For
Excellent writing and communication skills
Strong ability to analyse and think critically about complex issues
Background in any relevant discipline (e.g. social sciences, communications)
Passionate about the promotion of digital inclusion, digital literacy, digital well-being and lifelong learning
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and good stakeholder management skills
Work experience in public sector or social services agencies would be advantageous
