Job description

Position Overview
If you are comfortable in both scouring the darkest corners and engaging decision makers, AsiaOne is the place for you to turn your talents into engaging content to make a difference in how Singaporeans and our region think and feel.

In this position, you will work closely with the management team and be supported by other departments within the Company to give a unique edge to our reporting.


As a News Editor, you will set the editorial tone and direction of AsiaOne’s news offerings.

You will manage and guide budding journalists and be responsible for our daily content lineup, including news, feature stories, personal reflections and commentaries.


Key Responsibilities
Leadership:
Guide a team of journalists and foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.


Content Strategy & Innovation : Lead editorial discussions with other departments in the Company to execute a bold content strategy for local and regional audience
Content Curation & Packaging : Monitor the news cycle and copy taste various sources and partners to create compelling and accessible narratives
Multi-Platform Multi-Media Storytelling : Drive the creation of diverse content formats, including news reports, feature articles, photo essays and news video
Requirements
At least 5 to 8 years of newsroom experience, with a preference for candidates with proven editing experience and ability to understand data analytics
A good bachelor’s degree, candidates with journalism, communications and social science background preferred
Strong news sense and a natural flair to persuade with words and visuals.


Resourcefulness, creativity and a sense of mission
Social-media savvy and plugged into the latest local and regional news cycle
Experience in a digital media setup, social media management and video journalism
Ability to read and/or speak a second or third language
