Assistant Engineer (AE) / Senior Technical Officer (STO)
Job Purpose
Manage a team to perform proper daily maintenance or project work on NSEW Supervisory Control System, NSEW/BP Power SCADA, and Emergency Traction Tripping System in stations, substations, depots, and OCC (Operations Control Centre), achieving reliability, availability, and safety.
Goal: Meet System maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Responsibilities
Responsible for managing a team in testing, maintenance, and recovery of SCS/PSCADA equipment such as OCC servers, overview displays, workstations, network equipment, RTU, Power RTU, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), Station PSC (Passenger Service Centre) HMI, and emergency door release (electrical controls) and related peripherals to meet system maintenance KPIs.
Main duties include:
Admin Matters : Plan and consolidate monthly work schedules and man-hours; update members on circulars, department notices, safety topics, and related matters; discuss, report, and update in monthly meetings; assist EMM in coordination for corrective maintenance, safety, inspection, and project support; maintain documentation; monitor inventory/spares; ensure work procedures are updated for safety and compliance; attend training; conduct supervised field training; manage staff welfare.
SCS Maintenance (applicable for OCC & Field AE) : Perform system backups, preventive and corrective maintenance; attend to all calls and SAP work notifications; submit work reports; ensure work orders are closed promptly; maintain safe equipment rooms; review work specifications; perform QA checks; perform in-house repairs; optimize spare parts usage; assist in disposal of obsolete equipment; assist in fault analysis reporting.
Other Roles and Responsibilities : Responsible for system A&A and contractor work; ensure safety compliance; support fault-finding and investigation; attend safety inspections and audits; coordinate external works; organize technical data; review manuals and drawings; propose improvements; respond to emergency recalls; perform night/shift duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Work Experience
• Diploma in Control and Engineering
• Higher Nitec in Engineering with at least 1 year of railway-related experience
