Assistant Engineer - Contracts Management | AWS + VB
Within this role, the successful candidate will be a member of System Management in SMRT Trains Ltd, responsible for supporting the end-to-end administration of revenue contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs) within SMRT Trains Ltd.
This role ensures accurate billing, prompt resolution of contractual and billing enquiries, and effective coordination across internal stakeholders such as Legal, Finance, IT, Procurement, Maintenance, and Operations.
The incumbent also contributes to process improvement initiatives, risk identification, and operational reporting to enhance service delivery and financial accountability.
In addition, the role involves managing documentation, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and executing sound project and financial management practices, including handling reimbursements, grants, and procurement tasks for the department.
Through a combination of technical proficiency, cross‑functional collaboration, and administrative support, the Assistant Engineer plays a key role in ensuring contract compliance, service excellence, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end administration of revenue contracts and SLAs.
- Ensure accurate billing and resolve contractual and billing enquiries.
- Coordinate with Legal, Finance, IT, Procurement, Maintenance, and Operations.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and risk identification.
- Produce operational reporting to enhance service delivery and financial accountability.
- Manage documentation and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
- Execute project and financial management practices, including reimbursements, grants, and procurement tasks.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Exposure or experience in the rail/transportation industry.
- Self‑driven, meticulous, with good time‑management skills.
- Ability to independently handle multiple complex issues concurrently.
- Objective‑based approach to work and ability to set and meet targets.
- Demonstrated flexibility in resolving issues.
- Demonstrated innovation and creativity in overcoming challenges.
- Sound knowledge of general business processes and organisational framework.
- Proficiency at producing and presenting reports and proposals.
- Comfortable interacting with technical staff to senior management levels.
- Microsoft‑literate in the use of functionalities and modules.
- Knowledge of SAP and Ariba is an advantage.
- Recognised diploma in Science, Building or any engineering branch.
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance, operations, and project management related fields.
- Exposure to legal, finance or quantity surveyor work is an added advantage.
