Job description

Assistant Engineer - Hull & Outfitting Design (Marine)
Backed by more than 50 years of experience, we are one of the world's leading providers of turnkey shipbuilding, repair and conversion services for naval vessels.

Our well-equipped shipyards in Singapore provide specialised and comprehensive services to support the end-to-end lifecycle of vessels.


We design and build a range of vessels for naval forces around the world to protect the sovereignty of boundaries and rapidly respond to evolving maritime and security threats.


From offshore support vessels to renewables and specialised crafts, we offer bespoke design and construction that aligns with our customers' operational and business needs.


Responsibilities
Prepare 2D arrangement, structural and detailed drawings, production model and information, and bill of material for approval, working and as-built.


3D modelling of structure, outfitting, space management by using AVEVA Marine.


Prepare detailed production engineering drawings to support production.


Prepare material take‐off list.


Prepare detailed room arrangement both in 3D and 2D.


Assist in the preparation of major equipment list.


Assist in the preparation of equipment specifications.


Ensure timely completion of design/drawings according to planned schedules and meet the required quality standards.


Ensure quality control in the design/drawing process.


Ensure that all documents are issued, updated, or filed according to the design procedure.


Assist engineers in solving technical problems on site if needed.


Participate in tests and sea trials, where required.


Knowledge & Skills
Good knowledge of international design codes, classification/statutory rules and regulations.


Proficient in AutoCAD, AVEVA Marine and Rhino 3D software.


Design knowledge for hull outfitting and accommodation outfitting.


Requirements
Diploma in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.


At least 1–2 years' experience in engineering detailed design in the marine/offshore/oil & gas industry.


This will be a contract position for 2 years.


Other Information
Location: Benoi Road (Island‐wide transport provided).
