Responsibilities
Electrical Design and Planning
Design of electrical systems and infrastructure
- Perform load calculations, design electrical circuits and plan power distribution systems that meet the project's requirement and adhere to safety standards
- Prepare detailed electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and wiring layouts to be used in project documentation and execution
- Proficiency in the Code of Practice for Electrical Installations (SS CP 5:1988, SS 638:2018) and ensure compliance to Electrical Wiring Regulations (EWR) and relevant international standards
Scout and assess emerging EV charging technologies (e.g. Fast Charging, V2G) that are ready for large-scale deployment
Project Coordination and Management
Liaise and collaborate with project teams, internal and external stakeholders to integrate electrical solution into overall systems designs
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that electrical installations are being carried out according to plans, designs and safety standards
Perform troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues on installation, including electrical faults or discrepancies between design and on-site conditions
Cost Management and Budgeting
Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for electrical work in construction projects
- Work with procurement team to source for materials, equipment and services needed for electrical systems, ensuring that they meet specifications and are cost effective
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Technical foundation/understanding in EV charging systems, protocols, and safety/standards will be an added advantage
- Experience in R&D, innovation trials, or standards development will be an added advantage
- In-depth understanding of local and international electrical codes, standards and safety regulations (e.g. SS638, NEC, IEC, etc)
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
