- Perform microbiological laboratory specific methods on materials or finished products, special projects or specified testing as directed
- Prepare reagent/media preparation, sample collection and identification, sample testing and reporting result
- Perform accurate recording of analytical results in worksheet and highlight any deviation in quality and safety to superior timely.
Assist troubleshooting to find out the root cause of deviation - Perform routine lab maintenance, including but not limited to lab cleaning & sanitization, lab environmental monitoring and lab equipment maintenance
- Conduct sampling at internal and external warehouses and incoming raw materials as required.
- Participate in quality control, problem solving, continuous quality improvement activities and assist any out of specification investigation
- Comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures; actively contribute to a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Higher Nitec, or Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
- Prefer 1-2 years of relevant experience are welcome.
- Prior experience in microbiological testing within the food industry is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
