About the Role:
The Assistant Manager will play a key role in establishing and growing the Office of Alumni Community, supporting the Head in building a global alumni network that inspires, connects, and engages alumni from Singapore and around the world.
This role requires an experienced, resourceful professional who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and ensure the successful implementation of the office's strategic roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Alumni Engagement & Programmes
- Implement and manage alumni engagement initiatives, including TUM Alumni Singapore Chapter, mentorship programmes, networking events and lifelong learning activities.
- Support the planning and execution of virtual and in-person alumni events in Singapore and other key regions in Asia.
- Act as a primary contact for alumni enquiries and maintain strong alumni relationships.
- Responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with key stakeholders—including philanthropists, alumni, corporate and community partners, and foundations—to generate support and goodwill for education and research advancement.
2) CRM & Data Management
- Manage alumni data and engagement through the CRM system ensuring accuracy, segmentation, and reporting.
- Use data to drive marketing campaigns, measure engagement, and inform strategic decisions.
3) Marketing & Communications
- Develop and execute targeted marketing campaigns to engage alumni globally.
- Manage alumni newsletters and content showcasing alumni achievements and success stories.
- Produce professional communications and stories that highlight the value of the alumni network.
4) Project Management & Strategy Implementation
- Oversee progress in implementing the phases of the alumni community office roadmap.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Marketing and Communications, Faculty, Business Development and Partnerships) and external team (TUM Alumni) to ensure alignment with institutional priorities.
- Proactively identify opportunities for programme improvements, process efficiencies, and innovative engagement initiatives.
5) Independent Execution
- Work independently to manage projects end-to-end, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure timely delivery of objectives while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in tertiary education industry with prior experience in alumni relations/engagement or marketing and communications
- Proven experience in CRM database management for alumni or stakeholder engagement.
- Strong marketing and communications skills - able to create compelling content, manage campaigns, and engage diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience in creating marketing and engagement collaterals using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar tools is highly preferred.
- Experience working with international alumni or global networks is highly desirable.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Independent, resourceful, and proactive mindset, with attention to detail.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
