Assistant Manager (Commercial Excellence, Supplier Management)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Location: West Singapore (1-minute walk from nearest MRT station)
Duration: 2 Years Contract (renewable/convertible)
Overview:
Responsible for overseeing a range of operational and strategic supplier-related tasks.
This role requires strong data analytics, problem solving, and project management capabilities to support stakeholder engagement, compliance governance, data tracking, and supplier communications.
The successful candidate will play a key role in upholding internal policy standards and ensuring smooth execution of supplier-related programmes and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and analyse complex datasets efficiently to identify root causes of the issues and propose corrective/ preventive measures as part of continuous improvement.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing and tracking of allowances and incentives.
Monitor progress for incentives by suppliers.
Work closely with the buying team to ensure targets are met.
- Creation and automation of scorecards and dashboards.
Leverage digital tools to streamline reporting processes.
Drive action plans to improve vendor performance with the category management team.
- Oversee user testing, gather requirements, and liaise with the data team for access provisioning for dashboard.
- Create / Support / monitor margin analysis, business metrics tracking, cost analysis and reporting.
Respond to ad hoc analysis requests from the buying team.
- Support procurement teams with contract management and ensure adherence to contract approval matrix and follow-up on outstanding items.
- Manage / Support ongoing project timelines/ deliverables, supplier communications and proper documentation of actions.
- Support Code of conduct declarations and support tracking of compliance.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Business, Data Analytics, Supply chain, Finance or related fields.
- Minimum 6+ years' experience in any industry sector preferably from functions like Procurement, Commercial, Analytics or Finance.
- Candidates with experience in Finance Shared Services, Finance or Commercial Analytics, Commercial Excellence, Backoffice Commercial operations, Backoffice Procurement Operations with financial knowledge are welcome
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Excel Capability: well-versed in advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, PivotTables etc) to manage and analyse complex datasets efficiently.
- Analytical Skills: strong analytical thinking and hands-on experience in using SQL or similar tools to deep-dive into data and generate insights independently.
Familiarity with data platforms (Eg: databricks, BigQuery, etc) and dash boarding tools (Eg: PowerBI, Tableau, Google analytics) is advantageous.
- Systematic & Logical Thinking: A logical thinker who can quickly grasp business problems, connect the dots, and translate them into well-organized, executable tasks.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Previous experience with handling a team of executives with good people management skills.
Ability coach, mentor and guide the team.
- Able to engage and manage both internal and external stakeholders effectively, including leadership, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
