Responsibilities
Lead and manage the contracts function within the marine procurement team, ensuring effective negotiation, drafting, and administration of contracts related to marine equipment, services, and logistics.
Support strategic sourcing, risk mitigation, and compliance with internal and external regulations.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for marine equipment, shipyard services, logistics, and technical supplies.
Ensure contracts are aligned with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
Maintain a central repository of contracts and ensure timely renewals and amendments.
Drive cost savings through contract negotiations and secure cost reductions compared with previous contracts; aim for cost avoidance where appropriate.
Collaborate with suppliers to establish clear terms and conditions, performance metrics, and dispute resolution mechanisms; support supplier onboarding and qualification processes.
Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies; ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, trade laws, and company governance.
Work closely with legal, finance, operations, and technical teams to support procurement decisions; provide guidance and training on contract terms and best practices.
Develop and implement contract templates and standard operating procedures; monitor market trends and legal developments affecting marine procurement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Law, Supply Chain, or related field.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in contract management, preferably in marine or offshore procurement.
Strong understanding of maritime industry standards, INCOTERMS, and international trade regulations.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in contract lifecycle management tools and ERP systems.
Legal or paralegal background is a plus.
Experience with shipbuilding, vessel maintenance, or offshore logistics contracts.
Certification in contract management (e.g., IACCM, NCMA) is advantageous.
