Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) seeks an experienced, high performing business development leader to lead a high‐performing team of Sales and Applications specialists to drive revenue growth and expand Shimadzu’s consumables business within the Aftermarkets portfolio.
This role requires a strategic and commercially astute leader who can identify market gaps, develop partnerships, and execute initiatives to grow the consumables portfolio while ensuring full accountability for revenue targets.
This position may be expected to travel up to 50% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Sales and Applications specialists to maximize performance and achieve aggressive revenue targets in South Asia and Southeast Asia region by owning and being fully accountable for consumables revenue targets.
Set clear KPIs, monitor performance, and ensure accountability across team members.
Develop and execute strategic and tactical initiatives to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
Identify new market opportunities and customer segments for consumables.
Analyze current consumables portfolio and identify gaps or opportunities.
Forge strategic partnerships with third‐party suppliers or technology providers to expand product offerings.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., sales, applications, business development, market development and service) to integrate new products into the portfolio effectively.
Continuously monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
Gather customer insights to inform portfolio strategy and new product development.
Drive initiatives through channel partners for achievement of regional and country targets.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
MBA is a plus.
7–10 years of experience in consumables, analytical instruments, or related industries, with proven P&L or revenue accountability.
Strong track record of managing small teams and driving revenue growth.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives, including partnerships or portfolio expansion.
Excellent commercial acumen, capable of analyzing data relationships, patterns and trends to gain important insights and make informed decisions.
Possess proven strategic thinking skills such that able to identify opportunities and anticipate potential problems, establish strategies for the allocation and deployment of resources to achieve business goals.
Demonstrate effective leadership skills by leading by example at organizational level.
Inspire, motivate and guide others to adopt a point of view, make changes or take action.
Cultivate an open, cooperative and collaborative learning culture for the organization.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to influence stakeholders and partners across functions to achieve common outcomes.
