Assistant Manager / Manager, Strategic Planning & Scanning

About the Job: The Strategic Planning & Scanning department supports strategy formulation and enterprise risk management.
This role will support integrated planning and risk management processes, collaborating with stakeholders to identify, monitor, report, and mitigate risks and drive strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Risk identification and assessment, including horizon scanning, risk perception surveys, and facilitation of risk discussions among Directors.
Formulation of risk mitigation plans or workplans, resource budgeting to address business risks and opportunities, and tracking implementation of such plans.
Risk monitoring, including formulation and monitoring of KRIs and evaluation of the impact of global and local risk events/developments on the university's risk profile.
Risk reporting to high-level management on platforms such as Executive Committee meetings and Audit and Risk Committee meetings.
Training and promotion of a culture of risk awareness.
Staying current with industry trends and best practices in risk management.
Support and facilitation of planning retreats, development of departmental strategy maps and corporate scorecard.
Drive annual cluster workplanning exercise, supporting departments in the formulation of business cases/workplans and reviewing and assessing business cases/workplans for approval.
Perform market and internal analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Monitor implementation of key initiatives and review outcomes of implemented key initiatives.
Manage innovation budget and optimize utilization on projects with strategic impact.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in enterprise risk management or corporate planning.
Strong analytical, communication, problem solving, and project management skills.
Certification in Risk Management (IRM CERM, CRMP, ARIMI CERM, etc.) or familiarity with ISO 31000 / COSO framework preferred.
