The Assistant Manager – Mechanical Section is responsible for supporting the Mechanical Manager in overseeing and coordinating the mechanical engineering activities across multiple areas including plant maintenance, piping, structural fabrication, lifting works, and equipment commissioning.
This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and project management skills to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering standards and client requirements.
Supervise daily and preventive maintenance activities in the plant.
Coordinate with operations for equipment downtime planning and execution.
Monitor plant performance and ensure quick resolution of mechanical breakdowns.
Plan, allocate resources, and manage in-house mechanical projects.
Ensure quality and timely delivery of contracted tasks.
Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing plant shutdowns/turnarounds.
Coordinate manpower, equipment, and material resources.
Ensure safety compliance and project milestones are met.
Review piping layout, isometrics, and P&IDs.
Oversee fabrication, erection, testing, and commissioning of piping systems.
Coordinate fabrication and installation of structural components.
Ensure structural works adhere to design specifications and safety standards.
Supervise lifting activities ensuring compliance with rigging and safety standards.
Work with certified riggers, signalmen, and lifting supervisors for heavy lifting jobs.
Plan and oversee the commissioning and decommissioning of mechanical equipment.
Ensure completion of checklists and system readiness for handover.
Manage the design, fabrication, testing, and installation of tanks.
Ensure all fabrication meets design codes and QA/QC requirements.
