Assistant Manager/ Senior Executive, Social Media Growth & Engagement (Seconded Role) - 6 months contract
About the Role
We're hiring a strategic, content-savvy social media specialist to be seconded to one of our key clients in the retail sector.
This role requires a strong blend of content creation, strategic thinking, trendspotting, and community engagement.
You won't just be helping posts perform better – you'll be helping shape what content gets made, how it connects, and why it matters.
You'll work closely with the client's in-house social media and content teams to craft and amplify stories that drive engagement, emotional resonance, and brand affinity – across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms
Platform Scope & Cadence Expectations
This is a hands-on role across the following platforms:
Key Responsibilities
Advise on content strategy and formats that resonate with different audience segments and social platforms.
Work with internal teams and agency creatives to conceptualize content ideas for always-on and campaign moments – including writing or reviewing short-form copy when needed.
Identify high-performing content and recommend strategic media boosting to drive reach, engagement, or conversions.
Monitor content performance and deliver insights-backed recommendations to shape future content direction.
Identify emerging trends and stay ahead of them.
From social conversations to platform shifts – nothing should be too big or small.
Proactively pitching trend-led or culturally relevant content ideas will earn you brownie points
Drive community engagement that's proactive, purposeful, and spark brand-relevant dialogue – both within and beyond owned platforms including:
– Participating in relevant social conversations across brand, creator, and partner accounts to grow visibility and build cultural relevance.
– Engaging in dialogue that reflects the brand's personality and values, creating space for meaningful connection.
– Building relationships with online communities by joining content and discussions that align with brand values and audience interests.
– Adopt a creator mindset – not just strategizing content, but also being willing to front camera-facing moments, inject personality, and help bring ideas to life in platform-native formats.
Requirements
– 3-5 years of experience in social media, digital content, or marketing communications with a deep desire to prove that you have what it takes to work with one of Singapore's most iconic brands
–A strong portfolio or proven experience in 360 communications – from content ideation and storytelling to copywriting across digital, social, and integrated campaigns
– Demonstrated ability to turn data and insights into actionable content decisions.
– Familiarity with paid social boosting, audience targeting, and analytics tools such as Meta Business Manager, Emplifi, or similar.
– Experience managing or contributing to community management strategies – including proactive engagement on external accounts (brands, KOLs, creators).
– Deep understanding of social platform nuances (especially IG, FB, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn) and how to tailor content for each.
– Creator mindset – comfortable appearing on camera when needed and contributing to content in a hands-on way, including trend participation, explainer videos, and behind-the-scenes storytelling.
– Passionate about social media culture, local and national cultural moments, and how to craft content that resonates across each platform's unique audience behavior.
– Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused
