(What you will be working on)
User Experience & Services
- Champion intuitive, responsive, and accessible services that delight our users.
- Gather user insights through surveys, observations, or informal feedback to drive improvements.
- Actively promote library resources and foster engagement across the campus community.
Technology, AI, Data & Innovation
- Implementation and operate smart library technologies such as inventory robots, facial recognition gantries, smart lockers, crowd monitoring systems, etc.
- Collaborate with IT department and library teams on projects involving AI, digitalisation, or data analytics to enhance services and operations.
- Use data tools to monitor trends, evaluate services, and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Contribute ideas and pilot new tech-driven initiatives that push boundaries.
Administration and Operations Management
- Oversee service operations, membership processes, and facility maintenance.
- Manage library security and respond to feedback or breaches in resource usage.
- Maintain collections through shelf management, inventory checks, and weeding exercises.
- Provide data and insights to support strategic planning and operational decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Partner with internal departments, schools, and external collaborators to co-create library programs and outreach activities.
- Participate in policy development, service enhancements, and digital transformation efforts.
- Represent the library in Joint Poly Libraries projects, potentially as a project lead.
(What we are looking for)
- Tertiary qualifications in Library & Information Science, Communications, Design, or a related field.
- Candidates with minimum 3 years of supervisory experience are preferred, in a library or service-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with library or other inventory systems, digital platforms, or analytics tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; resourceful and service-driven.
- Effective writing and visual communication skills for outreach and engagement.
- Comfortable with emerging technologies and open to change.
