Overview
This position is responsible for driving strategic decision-making and investment planning through comprehensive technical and economic analysis.
It plays a vital role in monitoring plant operations, boosting performance, improving safety and reliability, and uncovering sustainable growth opportunities.
The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, government bodies, and external stakeholders to drive high-impact projects, and stay informed on emerging trends in refining technologies and market dynamics.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze detailed technical and economic information of projects to present and recommend for decision making and investment
Participate, analyze and conduct economic evaluation of Refinery in-house and major projects with objective to enhance safety/reliability/revenue generation/ sustainability of the Plant
Monitor and review Refinery’s annual business plan/assumptions to ensure effective implementation of operations and capital expenses to achieve the desired outcomes in Plant performance
Develop and maintain good rapport with other stakeholders
Participate in dialogue/discussion with government agencies and external parties on various refinery related issues and investments
Explore and pursue business opportunities to ensure the Refinery’s sustainability
Review regularly Plant’s performance and provide suggestions for operational improvement/optimization, enhancement of safety /reliability and reduction in operating costs
Keep abreast of latest developments in refining and related technologies to contribute to technical and economic recommendations of project investments
Keep abreast of economic news relating to Refining, feed stocks and refined products market developments
Job Requirements
Degree in Chemical Engineering
At least 8 years of relevant working experience in refinery or petrochemical industry
Knowledge in refining projects and operations/process
Good analytical skills
Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
