Job description

SJI International Elementary School is seeking an Assistant Principal - Enrichment to lead our comprehensive co-curricular student experience.

This pivotal Senior Leadership Team role is responsible for driving student development and holistic well-being beyond the academic curriculum.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader with a proven record of excellence in developing and managing large-scale enrichment, co-curricular (CCA), sports, and expedition programmes.

You will oversee the effective management of budgets, staff, and external partnerships while ensuring all activities meet the highest standards of safety and student engagement.

This role demands a commitment to innovation, requiring the incumbent to stay ahead of best practices in outdoor education and skill-building initiatives.

The successful candidate must also demonstrate a commitment to nurturing the school's Lasallian Catholic ethos, building upon our core values of Faith, Service, and Community.

You will be someone who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues across a range of subject areas, manage time effectively and show flexibility and creativity when working in our school setting.

The successful candidate should understand and support the school's identity and values as a Catholic Lasallian school, although they may not be of the same faith themselves.

This position will begin in July 2026.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted during the week of 17th November, 2025 and interviews (in person or online) will most likely be scheduled during the week of 24th November, 2025.

Job Purpose

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive enrichment program that complements the academic curriculum.

  • Lead the planning and execution of all co-curricular activities, sports, expeditions, and holiday programs.

  • Oversee the effective management of resources, staff, and student participation in all enrichment activities.

  • Provide guidance and support to staff and students to ensure a safe, engaging, and enriching experience outside of the classroom.

  • Communicate essential information regarding enrichment opportunities to the parent and school community.

  • Oversee all pastoral, behavioural, and safeguarding matters related to the enrichment program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for enrichment programmes that aligns with the school's mission and values.

  • Lead the planning, organisation, and management of all sports programmes.

  • Oversee the creation and management of a diverse range of co-curricular activities (CCAs) that cater to a wide range of student interests and talents.

  • Lead whole-school events, when related to enrichment activities.

  • Develop and supervise the school's expedition programme, ensuring it provides challenging and transformative experiences for students.

  • Manage the design and implementation of engaging and educational holiday programmes.

Specific Tasks and Duties

Strategic Leadership

Enrichment Programme:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of all enrichment programmes in conjunction with relevant middle leaders (CCA, Sport, The Arts, Student Leadership, Faith formation)
  • Ensure all activities promote student well-being, skill development, and a love for learning.

  • Stay up-to-date on best practices and trends in enrichment and co-curricular education.

  • Research and establish partnerships with outside organisations in support of the Enrichment Programme

Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) and Sports

  • Work with staff to design and deliver a wide array of CCAs and sports teams.

  • Coordinate schedules, venues, and resources for all activities.

  • Ensure that all sports and activities are conducted in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Communicate with parents regarding student participation, schedules, and achievements.

Expeditions and Outdoor Education

  • Plan and manage a range of expeditions, ensuring all safety protocols and risk assessments are meticulously followed.

  • Collaborate with external partners and guides to deliver high-quality outdoor experiences.

  • Prepare and brief students, parents, and staff on all expedition details.

Resource Management

  • Manage assigned budgets, showing fiscal responsibility for all enrichment, sports, and expedition expenditures.

  • Ensure that the range, quality, and use of all available resources are monitored and reviewed.

  • Assist in the recruitment and training of staff to lead enrichment activities.

Self-Evaluation and Quality Assurance

  • Participate in the school's PRD (Professional Review and Development) process as a reflective practitioner.

  • Seek opportunities for professional development through a range of opportunities, such as professional reading, network groups, and workshops.

General Areas of Responsibility

  • Be an advocate of the school and its decisions during interactions with students, staff, and the community.

  • Lead in nurturing a Lasallian Catholic ethos by building upon the legacy and tradition of the school, firmly anchored in Faith, Service, and Community.

  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and students.

  • Be a role model within the school in terms of professional expertise and conduct, and lead by example.

  • Treat others fairly and with respect to create and maintain a positive school culture.

  • Build a collaborative learning culture within the school and manage innovation and change.

  • Be an active and supportive member of the SLT (Senior Leadership Team).

  • Take on specific tasks related to the day-to-day administration and organisation of the school as requested by the Principal or SLT.

  • Support the PRD and performance management process as required to help staff develop goals and improve professional effectiveness.

  • Support staff in meeting personal and professional goals.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 5 or more years in leadership
  • Proven leadership experience in co-curricular activities, sports, or enrichment programmes
