Position Summary
The Assistant Quality Engineer supports the Quality department in ensuring that products, processes, and systems meet customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality objectives.
This role involves assisting in quality assurance activities, inspection processes, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain compliance and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Control - Assist in monitoring and maintaining quality systems (ISO, IATF, or other relevant standards).
- Conduct in-process, incoming, and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Documentation & Reporting - Prepare and maintain quality-related documents (inspection reports, deviation reports, non-conformance reports).
- Support in updating and controlling standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and checklists.
- Assist in preparation for internal and external audits.
Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement - Participate in 8D, 5-Why, and FMEA problem-solving activities.
- Support cross-functional teams in process improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
- Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends and recommend actions.
Customer & Supplier Support - Assist in addressing customer complaints and ensuring timely resolution.
- Support supplier quality activities, including incoming material inspections and supplier performance monitoring.
Compliance & Safety - Ensure adherence to company quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement on the production floor.
Qualifications - Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).
- 0–2 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control (fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are welcome).
- Basic knowledge of quality tools (5-Why, Ishikawa Diagram, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other relevant quality management systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of Minitab or other statistical software is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
