Job Description
Envisioning a smart, sustainable, and resilient campus, NUS's sustainability framework includes strategies of Design, Decarbonise, Defend, Dematerialise, and Dialogue under the Campus Sustainability Roadmap 2030.

This Energy Manager position supports the University’s scope 2 emissions Decarbonisation programme by implementing energy optimisation and reduction projects targeting key building types such as laboratories, offices, teaching facilities, and hostels.


We are seeking enterprising, committed individuals passionate about carbon and energy management to help embed sustainability values within NUS and its Campus Infrastructure through a collaborative approach supporting the Roadmap 2030, its programmes, and projects.


Responsibilities
Assess campus Building Management Systems (BMS) for defects, errors, and inefficiencies related to energy management.


Draft and implement BMS user guides tailored to different systems and buildings; conduct training for building managers.


Propose system upgrades, identify errors in metering data, and collaborate with vendors and stakeholders.


Analyze energy usage trends from BMS data and verify electrical linkages through site walks.


Support campus sustainability initiatives involving smart metering, smart buildings, and energy management systems.


Assist project teams with new building design reviews and upgrades involving automated monitoring systems for water, air-conditioning, energy, and carbon.


Conduct Level 1 energy audits through building walkthroughs to identify energy-saving opportunities.


Lead projects involving detailed energy analysis, such as Level 3 audits and pilots on alternative building technologies.


Promote energy conservation practices within NUS/UCI.


Qualifications
Degree in electrical, mechanical, power, automation, or facility management engineering.


5-7 years of experience in energy, power, or building automation fields.


Relevant certifications like Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) or Green Mark Accredited Professional (GMAP) are preferred.


Familiarity with SLDs, P&IDs, ACMV, lighting drawings, and metering systems.


Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize diverse data.


Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
