Risk and Performance Management Department
We work collaboratively across teams to help guard against blind spots and ensure that all relevant risks are considered and duly addressed.
Investment Risk & Performance
The Investment Risk & Performance (IRP) team is responsible for improving the efficiency of risk-taking and providing an independent assessment of the risk and performance of various portfolios across GIC for the senior management of GIC.
You will provide an independent and objective view of investment risk and performance drivers of GIC’s active strategies.
What will you do as an Assoc/AVP, Investment Risk?
Identify, measure and monitor risks and ensure that concentration across various dimensions are properly managed
Understand the linkages between performance, risk and exposures and consider their application to the GIC portfolio and the relevant asset class
Gain an appreciation of risk methodologies and risk management policies and their application to the GIC portfolio and the relevant asset class
Keep abreast of market developments and in turn assess the potential impact to our investments
Independently assess the risk-reward of large deals using qualitative and quantitative measures
Present analysis and communicate assessment of strategy risk-reward to key stakeholders
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
Minimum of 2-5 years’ of experience in an analytical or investment related role
BSc or MSc in Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting or a quantitatively inclined field
Strong analytical background and genuine interest in problem solving.
Broad interest in financial markets and investments
Persuasive communicator with the ability to clearly articulate ideas, market views and technical topics
Good team player in a fast-paced environment
Desire to constantly learn and upgrade your knowledge base and skillset
