Your future team
The Artificial Intelligence team at SAP Labs Singapore comprises experienced professionals tackling challenges posed by SAP customers.

Based in Singapore, you will work on breakthrough projects addressing real-world problems, challenging norms with some of SAP’s key customers.

As part of the global product engineering team, you will engage in rich conversations with experts worldwide.


Purpose and objectives
As an Associate AI Developer / AI Developer, you will collaborate with a team of AI scientists, data engineers, dev-ops engineers, and architects to build top-tier AI products.

Success will be measured by your ability to deliver solutions that match the performance of leading AI systems within fixed timelines.


Applicants with relevant experience may be considered for the AI Developer role.


Expectations and tasks
Your responsibilities include:
Push the frontiers of artificial intelligence to create innovative solutions.


Explore and implement recent technologies for cloud applications and data pipelines.


Handle multi-terabyte datasets in scale-up and scale-out environments.


Strive for automation and cloud operation readiness.


Understand business processes related to data creation and consumption to select optimal approaches, evaluate performance, and assess relevance.


Support machine learning research and projects with data management.


Build scalable, reusable data processing pipelines.


Ensure excellence in results quality and system scalability through continuous evaluation and refinement.


Work closely with teams, customers, and partners to understand requirements and develop suitable applications.


Perform quality assurance and resolve complex integration issues.


Work effectively in global teams across different time zones.


Quickly adapt to new topics, terminology, and tasks.


Educational and experience requirements
Required
Degree in Computer Science or related field
0 to 3 years of experience as a software developer, preferably in AI-focused cloud applications
Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, OOP, design patterns, multithreading, and software design principles
Proficiency in at least two server/client-side programming languages such as Java, Scala, Go, Python, Node.js, C++
Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka
Knowledge of frameworks such as Spring, Play, AngularJS, Flask
Fundamental understanding of container and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with cloud platforms like SAP BTP, AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Strong desire to benefit SAP's customers through your work
Excellent communication skills in English
Optional
Experience with Shell Scripting, PowerShell
Knowledge of UI Design Patterns
Operational knowledge of Linux distributions
Exposure to deployment and orchestration tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible
Knowledge of Machine Learning fundamentals
