Associate Director, FCSO TM Solutions at Standard Chartered Singapore.
The role requires strategic thinking and technical expertise in financial crime detection and prevention, with hands-on experience to design, develop and deploy analytics/models to detect suspicious activities and financial crime.
The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a strategic mindset for enhancing Transaction Monitoring effectiveness, and familiarity with regulatory requirements in the financial sector.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and deploy models for anomaly detection, behaviour profiling, network analysis, and predictive scoring for TM Solutions; act as the single point of contact for AML Transaction Monitoring modelling matters.
Perform data exploration, feature engineering and ensure models are accurate, efficient and scalable.
Support analytical processes to enhance TM red flag monitoring and optimize cases for investigation through AI/ML models and analytical processes.
Improve processes such as threshold tuning, reconciliation, segmentation and optimisation across TM functions and products (CASA, Trade, Credit Cards, Securities and Financial Markets).
Support design of scenario models, development and validation including data quality validation, model effectiveness and rules logic for risk analytics.
Ensure all processes/models follow the Bank’s governance, including Model Risk Policy Governance and Risk Based Rule review.
Have knowledge of core banking, payment, CDD, securities and other systems and interplays; understand business domain aspects relevant to AML Monitoring and Case Management.
Conceptualize, design, support and align processes and controls to industry best practice and address compliance gaps.
Mentor and train new joiners to quickly adapt to new requirements.
Provide endorsement for changes or remediation activities impacting AML optimization models and engage stakeholders for production deployment.
Collaborate on processes such as threshold tuning, reconciliation, segmentation and optimisation across TM products.
Contribute to collective objectives and scorecards for defined periods.

Provide coaching to peers and new hires to ensure high engagement and performance.
Promote a culture of openness, trust, risk awareness and compliant conduct.
Foster forward planning, prioritisation, deadline management and collaborative workflows.
Governance
Attend relevant business/segment/product working group meetings.
Track and remediate surveillance and investigations-related regulatory findings.
Report monitoring matters to relevant FCC and governance committees.
Provide progress updates on mitigation actions for AML optimization model issues and enhancements.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
Display exemplary conduct and uphold the Group’s values and Code of Conduct.
Take responsibility for ethics and regulatory compliance across Standard Chartered Bank.
Contribute to outcomes in the Conduct Principles of the Product/Segment/Regional teams.
Identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
8+ years of hands-on experience in Transaction Monitoring design and development with 5+ years focused on financial crime threat risk mitigation.
Strong background in deploying TM or compliance models with solid AML/CFT regulation knowledge.
Strong coding skills in Python, R, SQL and familiarity with data engineering for model integration.
Postgraduate degree in Management/Statistics/Mathematics OR Engineering degree from a reputed institution.
ACAMS certification or equivalent.
