What you will be working on

We are looking for Associates to handle prosecution and corporate advisory matters.

With good performance, you will have the opportunity for exposure to other types of legal functions such as tax legislation, tax advisory and tax litigation.

As an Associate of the branch focusing on prosecution of tax offenders and rendering corporate advisory matters, you will be expected to handle one or more of these areas of work:

  • Provide clear and effective directions on investigations and prosecutions and prosecute tax offences in the courts
  • Provide clear and effective legal advice on corporate counsel issues that are necessary for IRAS's functions

You will report to the Chief Legal Officer and Director of the Prosecution, Corporate & Legislation Branch.

What we are looking for

  • Excellent law degree and called to the Singapore Bar
  • Newly qualified or up to 2 years Post-Qualification Experience
  • Keen interest in acquiring prosecution assessment skills and prosecution court craft
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Analytical, independent and self-motivated
  • Ability to consider issues from a systemic perspective
  • Desire to serve in public service and a team player

• Advise the Government and represent Singapore internationally on matters relating to taxation
