We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Marine Scientist to join our dynamic team.
You will be responsible for conducting surveys, assessments, and data analysis that contribute to environmental impact assessments, baseline studies, and monitoring & management programs.
This field-based role is ideal for individuals passionate about environmental science, who enjoy outdoor work, and are committed to advancing environmental monitoring techniques and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Field Surveys: Carry out field surveys, environmental site assessments, and sampling across different habitats, including marine and terrestrial environments.
Tasks include monitoring soil, water, air quality, and ambient noise.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather, compile, and analyse environmental data to assist in environmental impact assessments and the development of environmental management plans.
- Report Preparation: Prepare detailed reports, summaries, and technical documents to present findings and recommendations to clients, regulatory agencies, and project teams.
Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and project teams to communicate project progress, findings, and compliance requirements effectively.
- Health & Safety: Follow company and regulatory health and safety standards, particularly during fieldwork and data collection activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Marine Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in environmental science, field surveying, or a related role.
Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment and survey techniques (both marine and terrestrial) is beneficial.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of environmental data analysis, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency with GIS, GPS, and other data collection tools.
- Self-motivated with a keen interest in learning new skills and knowledge.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Physical stamina to perform fieldwork in various outdoor settings.
- Proficient swimming skills for field surveys around water environments.
- Additional skills such as diving and drone piloting experience are an advantage
