About the Job
We are seeking an Assistant Instrument Maintenance Engineer to support day-to-day instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting activities in the Production Unit.
This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operations through the execution of scheduled, emergency, and non-routine maintenance work, while complying with all HSSE requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily maintenance and troubleshooting support for instrumentation and control systems.
- Support the execution of scheduled and emergency maintenance activities, ensuring safe and timely completion.
- Perform SAP administration tasks including service entries, time sheets, material orders, and work order closure.
- Supervise contractors during maintenance activities to ensure safety, productivity, and quality.
- Coordinate with Operations, Technology, and Procurement teams to enable effective maintenance execution.
- Conduct risk assessments, participate in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and enforce Life Saving Rules.
- Monitor spare parts inventory for instrumentation and initiate updates where required.
- Identify recurring issues, recommend solutions, and support reliability improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, engineering codes, and site standards.
- Participate in safety walkabouts and contribute to continuous improvement of work methods.
Job Requirements
- NITEC Level 2 in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering or Diploma/Degree (in the same field).
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in instrumentation maintenance within oil & gas, chemical, or petrochemical industries.
- Knowledge of PLC, DCS, and communication protocols (OPC, Fieldbus, Modbus, HART, Vnet).
- Skilled in calibration and troubleshooting of industrial instrumentation.
- Basic knowledge of server administration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with SAP Maintenance Module (GSAP) is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and in a team.
- Able to perform standby duty at Bukom site, as per schedule.
