Join us as a key member of the APAC Operations in the Regulatory reporting space, responsible for the regulatory adherence of APAC regulations, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timelines of regulatory reporting and the primary contact point for Compliance, Business and Regulatory Relations.
You will be working with Compliance to respond to regulator enquiries, exams, surveys and issue management, representing Barclays at industry forums and working groups and staying on top of regulatory developments.
You will be responsible for defining a conformance testing approach, reporting output, processes and controls.
Specialist to manage and oversee OTC derivatives trade and transaction reporting obligations across APAC jurisdictions.
This role will ensure compliance with evolving regulatory frameworks including MAS, HKMA, ASIC, and JFSA requirements, with a strong focus on data quality, timeliness, and global harmonization standards.
Responsibilities
- Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
- Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations in operational processes.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
- Develop reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
- Identify industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
- Participate in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5–8 years of experience in regulatory reporting, preferably in OTC derivatives within APAC.
- Strong understanding of derivatives products and lifecycle events.
- Hands-on experience with trade repositories (e.g., DTCC, UnaVista) and reporting platforms.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and regulatory change initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Experience with data transformation tools (e.g., Xceptor, Alteryx) is preferred.
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory texts and translate them into operational requirements.
Regulatory Knowledge & Day-to-Day Operations
- Experience in regulatory reporting including trade reporting, large holdings/short position disclosure, takeover reporting and understanding of APAC regulatory reporting requirements such as MAS, HKMA, JFSA, ASIC.
- Ability to interpret and implement regulatory requirements into day-to-day operations, lead regulatory change and implementation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including COO, Compliance, Technology, and Businesses to drive regulatory change, issue resolution and escalation.
Experience liaising with regulators, trade repositories, vendors and representation in industry working groups and forums.
- Data analysis, conformance testing and quality assurance, ability to work with large data sets and different system flows/logic to identify gaps and resolve issues.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work through complex system flows, data lineage and APAC nuances.
