Role Overview: Join Analog Devices' Battery Management team to develop and support products for smartphones, gaming consoles, and other consumer electronics.
You'll work on hardware/firmware and algorithms for Lithium-ion battery fuel gauging, charging, health, and safety.
This role involves the complete product life cycle from concept to mass production.
Key Responsibilities:
Algorithm & Product Development: Develop algorithms for battery monitoring, gauging, protection, and charging.
Collaborate with Design, Firmware, Software, and Application teams to define and develop new ICs. Engage with advanced R&D teams to align core process/fab technology developments with product roadmaps.
Monitor emerging technologies in battery chemistries, safety, and regulatory standards.
Develop testing and validation automation tools and simulation software to validate battery algorithms and new ICs. Write technical documentation to support customer designs, product evaluation boards, and full system operation.
Customer & Market Engagement: Engage with customers virtually and in person to understand requirements and promote existing and new solutions.
Support ongoing designs, production ramps, release to market, and post-release of customer end products.
Technical Skills & Expertise:
Battery Management: Detailed knowledge of battery fuel gauge IC implementation, algorithms, battery state-of-health, battery protection, authentication, chargers, and mixed-signal design (including ADCs).
Expertise in battery standards and safety regulations.
Embedded Systems: Proficiency in C for embedded processor cores (RISC-V, ARM).
Experience with assembly programming and scripting with Python.
Familiarity with software and hardware for embedded systems, such as RISC-V or similar architecture.
System Design & Integration: Experience in system design and integration, including schematics reviews and PCB layout reviews.
Ability to develop and support hardware/firmware integration for new ICs. Testing & Automation: Experience with test automation or continuous integration systems.
Development of testing tools and validation automation for battery algorithms and ICs. Minimum Qualifications:
4 years of experience in battery management algorithms/hardware & firmware development or product support.
Expertise in fuel gauges, protectors, chargers, and embedded systems.
Proficiency in C and working knowledge of Python.
BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (4+ years) or MS (3+ years).
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Python for data processing.
Expertise in battery standards.
Experience with battery chargers, fuel gauges, and assembly code.
