Job Description:
- Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications, creating and maintaining 3D models using BIM software
- Proposal and preparation of material samples
- Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant
- Proposing cost-effective solutions for the intended project
- Acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, manpower and operatives
- Prepare, Sketch and produce Autocad / BIM site drawings to achieve approval from clients
- Surveying the site to assist in the drawings and production of setting out & levelling for installation purposes
- Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
- Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect
- Liaising with any consultants, PE Engineers subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project for necessary submissions
- Liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws
- Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress
- Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors
- Produce site cutting lists for procurement and fabrication purposes
- Finalize as built drawings with quantity surveyors for final claim purposes
- Preparing reports as required
- Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry; prior involvement in MRT or other large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD and BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards
- Familiar with local building codes, regulations, and by-laws
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple stakeholders including consultants, subcontractors, and authorities
- Competent in interpreting and managing contract design documents
- Skilled in site surveying, setting out, and levelling work
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective liaison with clients and project teams
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in calculations and documentation
- Willing to work on-site and adapt to project schedules
- Able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
