We are looking for a Business Analytics Lead supporting the China Merchant Sales team, to drive data-informed strategies and operational excellence.

This role requires strong analytical capabilities, business acumen, and fluency in business-level Chinese to collaborate with stakeholders across China and Singapore.

You will be part of the APAC and China Merchant Analytics team, a dynamic group of data professionals partnering with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Strategy to drive data-informed decisions that support the growth and success of merchants in the region.

Job Description Summary
As a Business Analytics Lead supporting the China Merchant Sales team, you will play a critical role in driving data-informed strategies and operational excellence.

The role requires strong analytical capabilities, business acumen, and fluency in business-level Chinese to collaborate with stakeholders across China and Singapore.

You will join the APAC and China Merchant Analytics team to empower PayPal’s merchant sales organization with actionable insights.

Our team partners with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Strategy to drive data-informed decisions that support the growth and success of merchants across the region.

You will leverage data and insights to support strategic decision-making, optimize sales performance, and identify growth opportunities for Chinese merchants.

Your work will influence how PayPal engages with and supports one of its most dynamic merchant segments.


Responsibilities
Partner with China Merchant Sales leaders to define KPIs, track performance, and identify actionable insights.


Conduct deep-dive analyses on merchant behavior, sales trends, and market dynamics.


Develop dashboards and reports to support business reviews and strategic planning.


Collaborate with global and regional teams to align on data definitions, tools, and best practices.


Translate business needs into data requirements and work with data engineering teams to ensure data availability and quality.


Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in English and Chinese.


What you need to bring
5+ years of experience in business analysis, sales operations, or a related field.


Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).


Experience working with sales or merchant data in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.


Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese (business-level fluency required).


Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders across geographies.


Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
