Business Development Manager / Sales Manager – Pharmaceutical & Biopharma Engineering Solutions (Singapore & Southeast Asia)
The Opportunity
A globally operating engineering solutions provider for the Pharma and Biopharma industry, specialising in process design, automation, equipment, cleanrooms/aseptic, qualification, digitalisation, and decarbonisation, is scaling its presence in Southeast Asia.
The Business Development Manager / Sales Manager will play a key role in driving growth, building strong customer relationships, and shaping the go-to-market strategy in this region.
About the Role
This is a pivotal, customer-facing role with high autonomy.
You will engage with clients across pharma and biopharma to understand their process needs, propose technical solutions, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships.
Serve as a bridge between local market dynamics and global engineering, automation, and digital teams.
You will be provided with strong support with the global technical & engineering teams when engaging with proposals and client requirements.
What You Will Do
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities in Singapore & Southeast Asia's pharmaceutical, biotech, and bioprocessing sectors.
- Build and nurture relationships with new and existing customers, including large pharma manufacturers, CMOs, CDMOs, specialty, biopharma etc.
- Collaborate with engineering, automation, process, and digital teams internally to design customer-specific solutions (e.g., cleanroom, aseptic fill/finish, validation, automation, CQV).
- Drive contract negotiations, pricing, and project scope with customers.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and forums to build visibility and market credibility.
- Support development of marketing & proposal materials, strategic pricing insight, and territory plans.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity; feed insights into strategy.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty by being the trusted point of contact for clients.
What You Should Have (Profile)
- Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation) or a closely related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven business development / technical sales success in the pharmaceutical / biopharma / biotech / aseptic processing equipment / cleanroom and similar product or service engineering sectors.
- Strong technical understanding: process solutions, automation, cleanroom/sterile production, qualification/validation/qualification.
- Existing network in Southeast Asia in pharma, biopharma, biotech, CDMOs, life science or relevant downstream/upstream process engineering (highly advantageous).
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and business level, capable of engaging senior decision makers.
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable working with few constraints but focused on results.
- Willingness to travel within SEA and to engage clients on site.
