About the role
Ushidoki Wagyu Kaiseki, a prominent restaurant in the heart of Downtown Tanjong Pagar, is seeking a talented Chef de Partie to join their esteemed culinary team.
This full-time role will allow you to showcase your expertise in Japanese cuisine and contribute to the delivery of an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
What you'll be doing
- Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of meticulously crafted Kaiseki-style dishes
- Ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained in the kitchen
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate the efficient flow of service and timely delivery of dishes
- Contribute to the development and refinement of new menu items, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese culinary techniques
- Mentor and train junior members of the kitchen staff, sharing your knowledge and expertise
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked kitchen environment
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent, ideally in a high-end Japanese or Kaiseki restaurant
- Thorough understanding of Japanese culinary traditions, ingredients, and flavour profiles
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to consistently deliver visually stunning and delicious dishes
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Passion for continuous learning and a willingness to adapt to new techniques and trends in the industry
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
