Project Planning and Coordination
- Review and interpret technical drawings, utility layouts, and construction specifications.
- Coordinate with consultants, utility authorities (e.g., PUB, Gas, Telecom), and clients.
- Participate in utility route planning to avoid conflicts and ensure feasibility.

Site Preparation and Survey
- Supervise site surveys and utility markings before trenching begins.
- Ensure trench lines, manhole positions, and pipe alignments are accurately set out.
- Coordinate with survey teams for level checks and route setting using GPS/total station.
3.
Execution and Construction Supervision
- Manage and oversee excavation, bedding, pipe laying, and backfilling operations.
- Supervise installation of:
Sewer pipelines
SPPG (Singapore Power PowerGrid) ducts
Telecom conduits (fiber, copper)
PUB water supply pipelines
Gas pipelines (low/high pressure)
Manholes and chambers
- Ensure compliance with trench depth, slope, and jointing specifications.
4.
Quality Control and Compliance
- Ensure all materials (pipes, ducts, fittings, etc.) meet approved standards.
- Inspect works at each stage for compliance with specifications and standards (PUB, SP, etc.).
- Conduct compaction, hydrostatic pressure, and air tests as required.
- Review and sign off method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs).
5.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Implement and monitor safety measures during trenching and confined space activities.
- Ensure proper shoring, barricading, and traffic control near utility works.
- Minimize environmental impact and adhere to LTA, NEA, and BCA guidelines.
6.
Utility Coordination and Permits
- Apply for and manage permits (e.g., LTA road opening, PUB, SP Power).
- Coordinate with utility owners to schedule shutdowns, tie-ins, and inspections.
- Resolve utility clashes by proposing rerouting or design modifications.
7.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain daily progress reports, inspection records, and site logs.
- Prepare and update as-built drawings and redline mark-ups.
- Submit progress reports and documentation to project managers and clients.
8.
Team and Resource Management
- Supervise and guide site supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Manage manpower and machinery allocation for each utility work section.
- Ensure timely delivery and storage of required materials on site.
9.
Testing and Commissioning
Hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure (water/gas pipelines)
Air testing for sewer pipelines
Mandrel and continuity tests for telecom ducts
- Coordinate with authorities for inspection and final commissioning.
