Overview
To operate Class 4 vehicles, responsible for operating and transporting heavy motor vehicles, such as Trailer Truck, with an unladen weight exceeding 2,550 kg.
Key duties include safe loading and unloading, adhering to delivery schedules, maintaining the vehicle, and ensuring cargo/material is secured properly, often involving manual labour or operating vehicle-mounted equipment like cranes.
Responsibilities
Transport and delivery: Drive heavy vehicles for the pickup, transportation, and delivery of goods, materials, or passengers to designated locations in a safe and timely manner.
Loading and unloading: Handle and secure items for transport, including the loading and unloading of goods, such as construction materials.
In some cases, this may involve operating specialized equipment like a lorry crane.
Vehicle maintenance and inspection: Perform daily routine checks to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
Drivers are often responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle and reporting any maintenance needs.
Route planning: Plan delivery routes to maximize efficiency and ensure timely delivery.
Documentation: Accurately manage and verify delivery notes, vehicle logs, and other administrative documents.
Compliance and safety: Adhere strictly to road safety regulations, traffic laws, and all company transport policies.
This includes ensuring proper handling of cargo and compliance with industry-specific safety standards.
Customer interaction: Interact professionally with clients or passengers during pickups and deliveries.
Ad-hoc tasks: Perform other operational duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Requirements
Valid driving license: A valid Singapore Class 4 driving license is mandatory.
Valid certifications: Crane Certificate perferred.
Experience: At least 1 Year experience as a heavy vehicle driver in a logistic, construction, or transport company.
Clean driving record
Physical fitness: Drivers should be physically fit and capable of handling manual loading and unloading tasks and long hours of driving.
Familiarity with routes: Strong knowledge of Singapore's roads and directions is necessary for efficient island-wide deliveries.
Teamwork and communication: The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
