Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Cleaning Department Manager is responsible for overseeing all cleaning and housekeeping operations to ensure a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across all assigned sites.

The role involves managing cleaning teams, planning work schedules, inspecting work quality, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards, and liaising with clients to meet service expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning operations across commercial, industrial, and residential sites.

  • Plan and assign cleaning duties, prepare work schedules, and ensure optimal manpower allocation.

  • Inspect and ensure cleaning quality meets company and client standards.

  • Manage and train cleaning staff on proper cleaning methods, equipment use, and safety practices.

  • Maintain inventory and request replenishment of cleaning materials and consumables.

  • Prepare operational reports, performance reviews, and work progress updates.

  • Handle client feedback, resolve complaints, and ensure service satisfaction.

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety (WSH) and environmental policies.

  • Liaise with suppliers for cleaning materials, machinery maintenance, and contract services.

  • Monitor and control operational budgets and cost efficiency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Facility Management, Environmental Services, or related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cleaning management or housekeeping supervision.

  • Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.

  • Good communication and leadership skills to manage multi-national cleaning teams.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple sites and schedules.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic reporting tools.

  • WSQ certifications in Environmental Cleaning or Workplace Safety (preferred).

  • Physically fit and able to handle on-site supervision.

  • Possession of Class 3 driving license (optional, an advantage).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Full-time position.

  • Work location: Multiple sites across Singapore (depending on project assignment).

  • May require working on weekends or public holidays based on site needs.
