Overview
The Clinical Instructor co-ordinates the development of unit based clinical practice, competence and expertise to promote quality patient care at different levels of nursing.
He/ She is responsible for staff induction, clinical education/training, in-service education, hospital or unit-based professional growth and precept student nurses from learning institutions.

Training and education for Nursing staff and students
Establish optimal clinical learning environment.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate preceptorship scheme for strengthening clinical support of new staff.
Provide OJT training of new staff and assist Nurse Managers in the wards to ensure their competencies.
Co-ordinate and organize training activities to strengthen unit-based generic and specialty clinical practices.
Plan, implement and evaluate unit-based and discipline-based training courses.
Ensure appropriate orientation, training and continuing education for nursing staff to advance and maintain the required level of competency.
Assist to develop and implement Nursing Standards:
Ensure that patient care delivery is implemented and monitored according to established standards of care and practice.
Act as a resource person to Nurse Manager on clinical nursing and nursing training matters and issues.
Apply principles to prevent medico-legal issues in relation to patient care.
Perform summative assessment of nursing staff and students.
Training and educationfor other non-nursing staff/volunteers.
Develop and conduct hospital-based training in relation to MOH requirements and organizational needs.
What you might need to have:
Diploma orDegree in Nursing
Preferably to have a Specialist Diploma in clinical education.
At least 6 years of experience in clinical care.
Must be Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board
