Job Purpose
Reporting to the Cloud Manager of Global Infra Operations, the Cloud and DevOps Architect will be a key member of the Cloud team responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and monitoring complex Cloud & DevOps Solutions and infrastructures for organizations.
The Cloud and DevOps Architect understands the business needs, implementing the design in the development of the Cloud and DevOps platforms for applications and systems, technical processes, and performing necessary activities to complete major projects such as cost estimation, RFP, solution testing and deployment.
The Cloud and DevOps Architect will work with / manage external technology vendors, System Integrators (SI), service providers and internal IT groups and business units for projects and initiatives.
These architects help in building cost efficient, reliable and scalable solutions to improve efficiency and achieve organizational goals.
Strategizing to build the most efficient system is a critical part of their role.
Additionally, they collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the system is implemented correctly and take responsibility for any issues that might arise as a result.
Design, build, implement, optimize and automate resources in AWS, Azure Cloud and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
Design, build, implement, optimize and automate CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes on-prem and in the Public Cloud
Design, build, implement and deploy container-based technologies in Kubernetes platform.
Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-based infrastructure on Cloud using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
Automate complex deployments, monitoring, and security tasks to ensure seamless operation of production systems.
Lead in building, implementing and maintaining robust solutions for Cloud technologies to meet business demands including performance tuning, upgrades, clustering, redundancy and disaster recovery.
Provide subject matter expertise and represents the highest level of technical escalation for the Cloud and DevOps technologies.
Serve as the expert on Cloud networking, security, and monitoring, implementing best practices for cloud governance, compliance, and security policies.
Consult with and serve as liaison for end users and application developers in the support of mission critical applications.
Ensure appropriate standards and procedures are adhered to, and develop and implement standards for installation, maintenance and enhancement of middleware platforms to support quality deliverables.
Clearly articulate design trade-offs of availability, performance, interoperability and costs to both technical and executive audiences regarding the Cloud and DevOps platform.
Plan and Design architecture solutions based on requirements for new cloud applications and make recommendations on services to use for optimal performance and scale, as well as provision, capacity, monitor and adjust as appropriate.
Collaborate with product managers and development teams to ensure the infrastructure aligns with the product vision and roadmaps.
Cloud-native and third-party observability tools to monitor system performance and ensure proper incident management and response.
Act as a technical mentor for junior engineers, providing guidance on cloud infrastructure, Python scripting, automation strategies, and DevOps best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
Stay up to date with the latest Cloud services, features, and trends, continuously evolving the team’s cloud capabilities.
Qualification
Holder of University Degree in in electrical, electronic, or computer engineering, computer science, or related field.
AWS Solutions Architect, Associate or Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, is good to have and holds high weight.
Strong knowledge of cloud concepts, architecture patterns, and best practices
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Cloud Solutions
Requirements
As an Architect in advising and guiding L2 & L3 support teams as and when required.
Candidate required to provide On Call support during off work hours or over weekend during Outages, High Severity Incidents, Planned Maintenance activities etc.
Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in a production IT environment managing Public Cloud like Azure, OCI, AWS and DevOps technologies like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub etc.
Expertise in AWS networking (VPC, subnets, security groups, Route Tables, NAT Gateways, VPNs, etc.), cloud security (IAM, encryption, security compliance), and cloud-native monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.).
Experienced in Implementation of AWS solutions using EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, EBS, IAM, SNS, SQS, SWF, Route 53, Application Load Balancer, Code Deploy, Jenkins, Elastic File System, Direct Connect, Cloud Watch, VPC, Security Groups, Cloud Front, Cloud Trail etc
Experienced in Implementing AWS tagging strategies, IAM roles/policies, security best practices, and governance controls.
Experience in Managing Identities and Governance in Azure i.e. RBAC, IAM roles, PIM, MFA, Conditional Access, Policies etc
Experience in Implementing and Managing Storage in Azure i.e. Storage Account, Disks etc.
Experience in Deploying and Managing Azure Compute Resources in Azure i.e. Virtual Machines, App Services, Function Apps etc
Experience in Configuring and Managing Azure Virtual Networks i.e. Hub Spoke Model, Peering, Routing, UDR’s etc
Experience in Configuring and Managing Azure Load Balancers, App Gateway, Front Door etc.
Experience in Configuring and Managing Azure Inter Site Connectivity i.e. Virtual Network Gateways, ExpressRoute Circuits, Local Network Gateways, Connections etc.
Experience in Monitoring and Backing up Azure Resources
Experience in Configuring and Managing Azure Databases
Experience in Managing, Monitoring and Configuring Azure Landing Zones
Hands-on experience setting up CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Maven, and Gitlab etc
Hands-On experience is setting up IaaC using Azure ARM or Terraform or Cloud Formation
Experience in Automating tasks like building, testing, and deploying software
Experience in Managing, Monitoring and Configuring container-based technologies such as Azure AKS, Docker, ECS, EKS & Red Hat OpenShift platform.
Experience in using the Azure Portal and the Azure PowerShell and the Command Line Interface for administering the different Azure resources
Experience in executing projects, including planning and implementing a short- and long-term work plans and successfully completing projects on schedule.
Experience with the performance tuning, capacity planning and reporting in Azure Cloud
Experience in managing and dealing with third party system integrators and solution providers
Experience working with clustered systems and high availability systems
Experience with Logistics or Supply Chain environment added advantage.
Good knowledge of other technologies used in IT enterprise infrastructure such as server hardware, virtualization/VMWare, networks, load balancers, firewalls, SAN Storage, backups, databases, AD / LDAP, SSO and cloud solutions such as OCI.
Working experience with several of these areas highly desirable.
Proven track record of automating complex cloud deployments and scaling services in production environments.
A collaborative and mentoring mindset, with the ability to guide and support junior engineers.
