Responsibilities
Commodity Strategy Development -
Develop and implement sourcing strategies for plastic commodities (e.g. OEM, cable, harness etc) aligned with business objectives.
Supplier Management -
Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and compliance standards are met.
Lead supplier negotiations and contract management.
Market Intelligence -
Monitor global market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain risks in the plastics industry.
Provide insights and forecasts to internal stakeholders.
Cost Optimization -
Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternative sourcing, and long-term supplier partnerships.
Cross-functional Collaboration -
Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with product development and operational needs.
Sustainability & Compliance -
Ensure sourcing practices comply with environmental regulations and support the company’s sustainability goals, including recycled and bio-based plastics.
Data Analysis & Reporting -
Analyze spend data, supplier performance metrics, and market indices.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in commodity management or strategic sourcing, preferably in the plastics or manufacturing industry.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
Deep understanding of plastic materials, global supply markets, and sustainability trends.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and procurement tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
