Job Description
- Commodity Strategy Development - Develop and implement sourcing strategies for plastic commodities (e.g. OEM, cable, harness etc ) aligned with business objectives.
- Supplier Management - Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and compliance standards are met.
Lead supplier negotiations and contract management.
- Market Intelligence - Monitor global market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain risks in the plastics industry.
Provide insights and forecasts to internal stakeholders.
- Cost Optimization - Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternative sourcing, and long-term supplier partnerships.
- Cross-functional Collaboration - Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with product development and operational needs.
- Sustainability & Compliance -Ensure sourcing practices comply with environmental regulations and support the company's sustainability goals, including recycled and bio-based plastics.
- Data Analysis & Reporting - Analyze spend data, supplier performance metrics, and market indices.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks/projects as and when assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in commodity management or strategic sourcing, preferably in the plastics or manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
- Deep understanding of plastic materials, global supply markets, and sustainability trends.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and procurement tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
