Job Purpose
Railway infrastructure such as tracks, tunnels, and viaducts are inspected and monitored routinely to ensure safe use.

Inspection technologies like photo imaging, laser, and ultrasonic scan systems are increasingly used alongside traditional visual inspections to assess infrastructure condition.


Railway buildings and facilities are equipped with smart environmental control, pump monitoring, and lift control systems.

These systems may be OEM proprietary or third-party solutions.

The condition monitoring engineer's role involves understanding these systems, developing/refining condition thresholds for maintenance, and scouting industry-leading technologies to improve maintenance regimes.


Responsibilities
Understand system inspection characteristics and interpret inspection data.


Prioritize defects for infrastructure maintenance to ensure safe and reliable train operations.


Collaborate with data analysts and engineers to integrate monitoring data into centralized data warehouses.


Identify and evaluate relevant condition monitoring technologies to enhance safety and reduce maintenance efforts.


Qualifications & Work Experience
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.


Maintenance engineering experience is a plus.


Skills
Proficient in Excel, Python (and data science packages), and Power BI.


Microsoft Azure Data Engineer and Data Scientist certifications are advantageous.
