What this job involves:

The PDS business in Singapore provides a comprehensive spectrum of services encompassing design, project management, construction, and technical advisory to occupier and investor clients, operating across diverse asset classes including office, logistics & industrial, retail, and hotel properties.

This strategic leadership role reports to the Head of the Singapore Project & Development Services (PDS) business, working collaboratively with the Design Director and design team within the PDS Singapore business.

The Creative Director will serve as an integral member of the PDS Singapore senior team, working closely with other service and sector leads while interfacing across different business lines within JLL on projects and pursuits.

As part of the regional PDS Design network, the Creative Director will collaborate frequently with design team leaders in other geographies across APAC, particularly with design teams in other JLL offices in the Southeast Asia hub, to support the development and improvement of design capabilities, staff and technical expertise, and to harmonize design standards across the region.

Leadership and management:

As a senior member of the PDS Singapore business and leader of the design team, the Creative Director will oversee design activities and assume responsibility for design staff under their charge.

This role encompasses oversight of all aspects of internal systems, processes, and tools as they relate to design operations, maintaining responsibility for all design team members and ensuring that everyone has the resources and knowledge needed to succeed.

The Creative Director will establish and maintain operational excellence while fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment that drives exceptional design outcomes.

Being on top of creative design:

Creativity is at the core of this role, positioning the Creative Director as the creative design influencer in Singapore who will steer the team to develop innovative concepts, designs, and strategies that add significant value and competitive edge to projects, while continually creating, evolving, and developing JLL PDS's design standards.

The Creative Director will mentor, guide, and develop the design team to maintain a cutting edge in innovation and design, differentiating JLL's concept, design standard, and service from competitors.

This position requires an award-winning designer with demonstrated excellence and industry recognition, possessing extensive hospitality design experience across sectors with deep understanding of guest/user experience, operational requirements, and industry standards.

The role demands comprehensive expertise across mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, and retail projects, spanning new construction, refurbishment (A&A), and fit-out projects, with proven capability in designing both exterior public spaces and architectural interiors, demonstrating versatility across public and private space applications and multiple asset types.

Project Delivery:

The pursuit of new project opportunities, pursuit conversion, and subsequent project design implementation is a fundamental cycle within the business, and the Creative Director will play a pivotal role in this critical process.

Where design is to be provided as a service and/or differentiator, the Creative Director will take a lead role and oversee the creation of the design, preparing compelling pitch decks, presenting designs to clients, offering initial consultation and strategic advice until the successful conversion of the pursuit into awarded projects.

The Creative Director will oversee the delivery of projects from a design perspective to ensure that project objectives are met, design quality and procedures are achieved, project timelines and budgets are adhered to, and client relationships are maintained and strengthened throughout the engagement lifecycle.

An authority in creative design

The ideal candidate possesses a professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture, coupled with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience across diverse asset classes including mixed-use developments, office environments, hospitality properties, retail spaces, and both greenfield and brownfield projects, specifically within a design consultancy capacity.

Regional expertise in APAC markets, particularly hands-on experience in Singapore's dynamic commercial landscape, will provide a critical competitive advantage and deep understanding of local market requirements, regulatory frameworks, and cultural nuances that influence design excellence.

Technical proficiency across industry-standard software platforms is essential, including comprehensive expertise in AutoCAD for technical documentation, Revit for Building Information Modeling (BIM), SketchUp for conceptual design and 3D visualization, as well as advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop for image editing and presentation graphics, and Illustrator for vector-based design work.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required for seamless collaboration, project documentation, and client presentations across all project phases.
