Work Week Responsibilities
- Attend to customer, agent enquiries & complaints
- Carrier negotiation & booking
- Check sailing schedule and cargo status
- Arrange trucking and stuffing
- Prepare shipping documents for export & import (FCL, LCL , Cross Trade, Air
Freight etc)
- Assist in bill of lading (BL), certificates of origin (COO), cargo insurance,
PM4, SI, MSDS and other cargo acceptance documentation
- Co-ordinate & monitor shipment with carriers and clients
- Process custom clearance & permit if needed
- Send pre alert shipping documents & invoice to customer
- Liaise with accounts dept to make payment to carriers
- Verify vendor invoices with job no.
to accounts dept for payment processing
- Reporting of cargo issues
- Support in all aspect of sales and operational activities
- Assist in job closing and billing when required
- General admin duties and other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirement
- At least Nitec/Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Shipping or
equivalent;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to develop strong working
relationships (both internal and external);
- Good problem-solving skills and able to work under pressure;
- Well-organized, willing to learn, able to work in fast pace environment;
- Able to work independently or in a team-based environment;
- Proficient in MS Office applications, Portnet, Customs Permit;
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in the import/export freight forwarding
industry.
Training is provided;
- Bilingual in English, Mandarin to liaise with mandarin speaking associates;
- Prior experience with freight/shipping customer service would be advantageous.
