To achieve excellence in preventative and reactive maintenance programs incorporating industry best practices, innovative maintenance techniques, and statutory and contractual compliance, oversee the management and control of all plant, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Coordinate remedial actions with the Engineering Team in the event of business-critical failures.
Provide leadership and direction to multi-skilled Engineering Operations teams composed of directly employed staff and appointed vendors.
Ensure that all staff and vendors strictly adhere to client and JLL’s policies and procedures.
Act as a point of escalation for critical failures to assist the technical team in making safe, identifying, analyzing, rectifying, and reporting improvements.
Reports to the Data Centre Operations Manager.
Major Responsibilities
Manage site operations, including effective hiring, motivation, development, training, and discipline of technicians and maintenance teams.
Monitor KPIs and uptime requirements.
Support site reviews, including maintenance standards, equipment replacement, security, change control, single points of failure, Tier adherence, and operational risk.
Ensure delivery of planned and reactive activities using the CMMS platform within financial targets.
Perform additional tasks as required by the Data Centre Operations Manager and Client Critical Facilities Manager.
Support advice and consultation on facilities engineering matters.
Oversee site repair and maintenance by subcontractors, ensuring work completion, quality, and compliance.
Monitor, measure, and report on the performance of contractors against contractual budgets.
Lead and support meetings with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to maintain standards and develop corrective actions.
Support daily cadence meetings, monthly operations meetings, and quarterly reviews with UOB.
Ensure maintenance documentation meets standards and provides sufficient information for asset management.
Assist with statutory compliance requirements and certifications.
Maintain and update asset information within the CMMS.
Manage incident and escalation procedures in accordance with client and JLL policies.
Ideal Experience
Tertiary qualifications in mechanical, electrical, or operational engineering.
At least 3 years’ experience in electrical and mechanical services operation in Tier III or equivalent data centers or critical facilities.
Resourceful, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, stakeholders, and vendors.
Relevant DC certifications.
Understanding of continuous improvement initiatives, client relationships, and report preparation.
